The Big Gift...

Georgia Grace had an awesome birthday party!

I started planning it back in the summer when she was 5 months...yes that is right...thanks to pinterest I kept seeing all of these amazing ideas for birthday party themes! I decided to go with the Very Hungry Caterpillar because of the kindergarten teacher in me! Quality Book that Georgia Grace has in a board book, she likes the stuffed animal from Kohl's, primary colors, and I just found the cutest ideas!

This one is about one of her gifts!

The last gift ~~Georgia Grace~~ I opened was this....

That is right! She announced to all of our family and friends that she will be a BIG SISTER!

We have another doctors appointment on Monday to have an ultrasound!

We are super excited and so were our families and friends!

She decided to try on the outfit tonight!

12 Months...

Health:Unfortunately in the last 2 weeks she has had her first 2 sick visits. Roseola virus 2 weeks ago and then Croupe this past week. When she had roseola she had a fever for 3 days and then a crazy rash started on her tummy. She took tylenol and advil for the fever. For croupe she has been given a steroid (prednisone) Dr. Joey says she has clear ears and a clear chest even with croupe.

Size clothes: mainly 9 months some 6 months and some 12 months

Size diapers: size 2

Eat: she eats whatever we have - she doesn't take baby food anymore - we are hoping to get the go ahead to start whole milk on Monday. She has still been getting bottles from me.

Sleeps: 2 naps (morning and afternoon) and then sleeping is usually 10-12 hours

# of Wake ups at night: 0 (so thankful she even slept through the night when she has been sick)

Milestone:Turned 1 today!!!! Ate some cake and LOVED it!

Disposition: Happy unless over-tired or sick or woken up

Loves: dance, play, the iphone or ipad

Doesn’t like: being sick

Just learned: what birthday cake tastes like

Smiles: often

Recent trips: Well, we tried to go to Myrtle Beach but the car died so we ended up going car shopping for 2 days!

One Year Ago Today...

I held this precious bundle of joy for the very first time!

3 days later we got to go home as a family of 3...

We tried to soak up every single minute with you.

But unfortunately that time went by WAY. TOO. FAST.

You have been such a blessing to our lives and we have LOVED every single day with you. We can not wait to watch you grow up but we will continue to enjoy every minute we have with you.

What a Difference a Year Makes!

I was 40 weeks on January 14, 2011

Now Georgia Grace is 51 weeks old!

2011: Year in Review...

2011 was an amazing year!

In January we waited and waited and waited on our baby girl to arrive!

We got lots and lots of snow which shut down school for a week (yay!) and then she finally arrived after being induced at 41 weeks and an emergency c-section!

February we spent time loving on our baby girl and being spoiled by all of our family and friends with meals and gifts as we became a family of 3!

March was tough as I went back to work and Crossover flag football began but we enjoyed each Saturday at the ball field!

In April we flew to Boston for Jesse to run in the Boston Marathon! We had such a great time!!

In May we had Georgia Grace dedicated at Radius!

In June Jesse and I celebrated our 5th anniversary and went on a 7 night cruise!
So. Much. Fun.

In July we celebrated Georgia Grace's half birthday and then took a trip to Florida with the Rodriguez's!

In August we had to come back from Florida and I had to go back to work.

September started a new fall flag football league for Crossover and Georgia Grace attended her first college football game! Go dawgs!!

In October we went to the apple orchard, continued to enjoy flag football and Georgia Grace was a chicken for her first Halloween!

In November we went to Kentucky for Georgia Grace to meet all of her Great Aunts and Uncle and cousins!

In December we took a mountain trip and then celebrated the birth of our Savior as it was Georgia Grace's first Christmas!

Looking forward to an amazing 2012 as we are getting ready to celebrate our baby girl's 1st birthday in 3 weeks!

New TV...New Car...New Year...

Well, It has been an interesting week since Christmas!

On Monday we went and picked out a new TV because that was Jesse's Christmas gift this year! (he has been wanting one for several years and we have had my dad's 'hand-me-down'!) Only thing about the TV is that they had to order the one Jesse wanted because they didn't have it in stock...

On Tuesday we didn't do much other than relax and enjoy time off!

Wednesday we packed and left for Myrtle Beach with the Lexington boys basketball team for the Beach Ball tourney. We were on our way and Jesse and Georgia Grace were both asleep and I was driving in the fast lane of I-20 when my cruise control stopped going 74! I tried to reset it and then my car just wouldn't accelerate anymore. I started freaking and woke Jesse up! Of course by this time I am piling up traffic behind me and I can barely get over because I am not going 20 mph trying to change lanes and can't get any faster...

Long story short - we got a tow truck...Amy came to our rescue and came and got Georgia Grace and me (and our luggage for 3 days at the beach with an 11 month old!) and then Jesse waited for the tow truck and hitched a ride with him!

Thursday we get the diagnosis that my car is going to cost several thousand dollars to get fixed. (catalytic converters?!) I have put almost 190 thousand miles on the Escape so we weren't going to put that kind of money into that car.
So... instead of going down to the beach a day late - we had to go car shopping.

We looked at tons of options...and literally looked and test drove for 2 whole days (Thursday and Friday) and then FIN.A.LY on Friday night we made the purchase of a Jeep Commander!

I am very excited about the new ride however it has definitely been a SUPER TOUGH few days with all of the stress of a car breaking down and having to say goodbye to my car my dad bought me when I graduated college to having our house completely torn apart with rearranging because of a new TV we are FINALLY put all back together - including all of the Christmas decor in the attic!

YAY!

Now we can ring in the New Year!

Baby's First Christmas...

Georgia Grace had a fabulous Christmas! She sure did rack up from the people that love her the most! Here is a picture of all of her goodies from EVERYONE! Mrs. Jeannette and Corey came over on Christmas Eve about lunch time and gave her a gift!
She LOVES it!

Then we went to see Mrs. Stacy and Mr. Toby and they gave her another gift!
They gave her one of these...SO CUTE!

Then it was time to celebrate Christmas with Jesse's family that night!

We ate some delicious food and then opened our gifts!
She got her first piano and the giraffe chair she was freaking out about at Walmart when we went!

Then we went to Big Daddy and Big Momma's house and got even more gifts a dog, a book, some precious clothes, and DIAPERS!!

Georgia Grace fell asleep on the way home!

We put her straight to bed so Santa could come!

We left him a plate full of cookies and he ate every last crumb!

The next morning Georgia Grace woke up about 8:45 and Jesse gave her a COOKIE for breakfast!

(He had made her a huge cookie with the left over dough when we made cookies and then put her initials in it with M&M's!)

(She didn't eat the whole thing!)
After that we took her to see all of her new goodies!

And she DOVE out of Daddy's arms!

Santa brought her a tiger ball pit, a baby stroller walker, and a zebra back pack! He also filled her stocking with lots of goodies like some sippy cups, pacis, a snack holder, some stacking cups, an iphone APPtivity case to protect mommy's phone from baby drool, and a MINNIE mouse (She FREAKED over Minnie when we went to Disney in August!)

After Georgia Grace played for a while she took her morning nap.

When she woke up she just wanted to play some more!

Jesse's parents came over about 1:15 to see what Santa brought and then it was time to head to Jesse's Aunts house for Christmas lunch where she LOVED the rocking horse they had!!

That night we had Christmas dinner at our house!

It was delicious and we had a great day!

The 12 Days of Christmas...

Jesse and I have always had Christmas traditions since we started dating in 2001 but this year we decided to do the "12 days of Christmas" because we have a new addition this year! We wanted to do fun things with her! She won't remember any of these activities but she sure does enjoy doing them! Some things we did were Christmas shopping, sent Christmas cards, made a gingerbread house, baked cookies, etc. Here are some pictures from our adventures!

11 Months...

Health: A fever one afternoon/night when we were in Kentucky for Thanksgiving and we thought a tooth was coming with all of her drool but nothing - still only has her 2 bottom teeth. Also a little eczema has shown up on the really cold days but those have been few and far between luckily!

Size clothes: 6 months and 9 months

Size diapers: size 2

Eat: Literally EVERYTHING! She might eat more than Jesse and I do!

Sleeps: 2 naps (morning and afternoon) and then sleeping is usually 10-12 hours

# of Wake ups at night: 0

Milestone: crawls and pulls up EVERYWHERE!

Disposition: Happy unless over-tired

Loves: to unpack things and to move things from one side to the other...she still loves cheese...and squish up her nose, Big Daddy taught her how to blow and she will curl up her tongue, she also loves to dance when she hears music!

Doesn’t like: Santa!

Just learned: to say mamamamamamamama - she also will let go of things to try to stay balanced.

Smiles: ALL.THE.TIME.

Recent trips: Louisville, Kentucky for Thanksgiving, to Pigeon Forge on a mini-vacay, to see Santa, Charleston for her first hockey game with the Crossover Hockey league

Ho Ho Ho...

So, everyone saw yesterday that in Gatlinburg Georgia Grace was fine with Santa. She wasn't necessarily loving it but she certainly wasn't hating it....WEEEEEEEEEELL maybe she likes the Tennessee Santa better than the SC one!

SHE HATED HIM!

I will say that this Santa was A.MAY.ZING. He gave her plenty of time to calm down and had us walk around again, etc. I recommend everyone to go to the Dutch Square Mall (Yes, it still exists!) because they let you take your own pictures, spend lots of time with you, and still give you a candy cane when you're done! Plus no long line...just a couple people at a time! (We stood in line twice to see if she liked it better the second time!)

After we went to see Santa we took Georgia Grace to CiCi's for the first time! She LOVED pizza!

The Mountains...

Last weekend we took a family trip to the mountains for a little mini-getaway before Christmas! We had a blast eating great food and getting a little shopping done! Georgia Grace met Santa for the first time on the streets of Gatlinburg! We stayed in a hotel with a huge indoor waterpark. Jesse and I didn't really do any of the grown up slides since we had Georgia Grace but we hung out at the baby pool which had swings and a slide and a see-saw! Here are some pics from our fun trip!

We drove up to Kentucky this year so Georgia Grace could meet my Aunts, Uncle, and cousins! We had a great time! It was fun seeing her play with baby Drew who was born last December!

Can't wait to see everyone again soon!

By the way, don't ever try to make a handprint shirt with a 9 month old and expect it to be easy! Ha!

So I know this is over a week late, but it's been a crazy few weeks! This working mom thing is no joke and I'm spending my spare time doing fun things with the precious little one and the husband!

Health: Fine!

Size clothes: some 3-6 months, most 6 months, and some 9 months (just depends!)

Size diapers: size 2

Eat: EVERYTHING! She likes barbeque, chicken, turkey, saltines, cheerios, life cereal, goldfish, puffs, yogurt melts, baby cheetoh looking things that Gerber makes, cooked carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, bagels, bread, biscuits, and she LOVES CHEESE! I mean LOVES IT! She also still gets a bottle and will eat tubs of baby food too! She is NOT picky yet!

Sleeps: 2 naps (morning and afternoon) and then sleeping is usually 10-12 hours

# of Wake ups at night: zero - she has been waking up earlier because of the time change though! (7:15 on the dot for a few weeks)

Milestone: crawls and pulls up EVERYWHERE!

Disposition: Happy unless over-tired!

Loves: to squish up her nose to make funny faces and make people laugh, CHEESE, to chase Ace, to play with Daddy and go on runs with him, to feed herself food, to clap her hands, to wave bye, to talk (dadadadadadadadadadadadadadada is her favorite!)

Doesn’t like: to be put in the carseat - not ALL the time but sometimes she will ARCH her back to fight it (mainly if she wants to be on the go!)

Just learned: how to clap, how to use a sippy cup (FINALLY!)

Smiles when: anyone looks at her, or when you tell her no! It is quite comical!

Recent trips: Tennessee to see "Uncle Corey", Trunk or Treat for Halloween, and Lexington's first home basketball game this season was on her 10 month birthday :)

And it sure was hard to take a pic of her...she is ON.THE.GO.

Last week I made a delicious dessert that someone else had pinned with some of my favorite things...chocolate chip cookies, OREO cookies, and brownies all in ONE dessert!! (The OREO cookies are what caught my eye)

It was DEEEEE-LISH!!!

Pinterest has also inspired some Christmas gift ideas

and of course my little girls 1st birthday party because let's face it, everyone knows October to December FLIES by...by the time Halloween arrives it is then Thanksgiving...then of course Christmas and then my baby will be ONE! I can't believe we are inching our way to 2012!

We can't wait so enjoy all of these special times with her!

Saturday was a big football game in Jacksonville...it used to be known as the largest cocktail party in the world...now (since both schools decided to not promote drinking) it is called the largest tailgate party in the world...and there are people EVERYWHERE!

Jesse and Tim are huge SC fans but Kim and I are the ones with brains because we are UGA fans!

We had a BLAST...especially since the DAWGS pulled off the win!

It is great to be a Georgia Bulldog! Especially in Jacksonville!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Last Wednesday we took Georgia Grace to the church where Jesse used to work (FBC) for their Country Fair! We saw lots of people and enjoyed catching up with them! Georgia Grace was a cute lil chicken!

Then on Halloween we took our lil chicken trick or treating!

Then we came home and ate some skillet apple pie!

(And Georgia Grace enjoyed goldfish and cheerios!)

I think it is safe to say she had a great 1st Halloween!

We decided to take a family road trip on Saturday since USC and UGA had the week off from football games. We went up to Sky Top Orchard in NC.

We had a blast and will definitely be going back!

9 Months...

Size clothes: some 3-6 months, most 6 months, and some 9 months (just depends!)

Eat: Has cut down to milk about 5 times a day 4 bottles and nurse before bed (hopefully thats ok when we talk to the pediatrician!) and eats 3-4 foods (and she likes the veggies that are mixed with the fruit now!) We introduced her to yogurt too and she likes it! She also enjoys puffs, cheerios, crackers, and yogurt melts!

Sleeps: 1-2 naps and then sleeping is usually 10-12 hours

# of Wake ups at night: zero (most of the time she wakes up at 9 but occasionally it is earlier and sometimes it is later)

Milestone: Crawls, Pulls up on things (fridge, crib, chair, couch, etc), also has her 2nd tooth that just broke through and we haven't even had to give her tylenol this time! She didn't fuss at all, just a lot of drool one day so we felt in there and boom there it was!

Disposition: Happy unless over-tired!

Loves: the cool fall weather when the wind blows, to hang upside down, to feed herself (finger foods!), to chase Ace, to wave bye, to read books, to run with daddy every morning!

Doesn’t like: the meat baby foods (chicken and gravy, turkey, etc.)

Just learned: how to crawl

Smiles when: she sees mommy or daddy (when mommy gets home, or picking her up from the nursery at Gold's or Radius, or getting her from her crib) or when the wind blows while she is outside and she gets a chill...she LOVES that!

Recent trips: The Mall with Aunt Katelyn and Uncle Chance, , A Mini Camping Trip to hear daddy speak to youth, Mrs. Carter's Birthday Party, The SC State Fair, Liam's Birthday Party, and LOTS of trips to Crossover Flag Football!!

The SC State Fair...

Last Wednesday was the opening night of the fair! Jesse was so excited about going because last year he was biking across the country and missed out. Opening night is always $1 entry night so we try to go then (since we live on a budget!) so we have more money for food!!! (cause that is my favorite part!)

Georgia Grace was too small for the rides but she sure did like all of the lights!

She even got to play her first carnival game!

And she won a prize!

We can't wait til next year where she can eat some fair food and ride on some rides!

The past two weeks have been super crazy at work so I have totally neglected the blog since I've been trying to love on my baby girl in my spare time! Aunt Katelyn took Georgia Grace to the mall on Thursday!

Daddy and Uncle Chance met up with them later that afternoon and they even rode the carousel!

That night Big Momma and Big Daddy (That is what Jesse is determined they will be called!) took us to Yamato's for dinner!

Georgia Grace finally got to meet her Uncle Chance (Jesse's brother) and Aunt Katelyn! They live in North Dakota (where he is stationed in the AF!)

They came to visit on Monday, September 12th and left this morning. Here are some pictures from their visit to SC!

Eat: 6 times a day...mainly bottles...still nursing at bedtime or if the pump isn't around! She loves fruits, usually has 2 tubs...will eat some veggies if we sneak them in between bites of fruit! She will eat sweet potatoes though!

Sleeps: sometimes a few naps sometimes 1 nap...depends on what she does that day! Usually sleeps 10-12 hours at night

# of Wake ups at night: zero

Milestone: Sits up, Rocks, tries to crawl (takes a few movements and then falls!) and has her first tooth poking through on the bottom!

Disposition: Happy unless she is hurting from her teeth

Loves: her new jumper seat we got at the consignment sale for 20 bucks!

Doesn’t like: green veggies

Just learned: how to move around "semi crawling"

Smiles when: anyone looks at her or talks to her

First Football Game...

Last night we took Georgia Grace to her first high school football game to see mommy's Alma mater and daddy's Alma mater (Irmo vs Lexington)

Then today Jesse went to the USC game with his family, so Kellee and I took Georgia Grace to Athens to see her first college game in the state that she is named after! Thanks to the Leathers family for giving us an extra ticket for her! My dad's best friend from childhood is Fred so we went by there today to see them. Georgia Grace loved seeing the

m and they loved her! They couldn't get over how happy she was and how much she looked like my daddy!

We went to the game thinking we would just leave whenever Georgia Grace got fussy since we were playing a nobody anyway but she never really got fussy. Here are some pictures from Georgia!

An Update on The Baby...

Well, it has been a little crazy around here between mommy going back to work and then daddy starting a fall flag football league and working with the cross country team but here are some things I have been up to...

I would put up a fight about the Carolina dress but the reason I am a die-hard Georgia fan is because of MY daddy so I figure if Georgia Grace is anything like me then she will probably choose her daddy's favorite team...plus, it is only fair to take turns so next Saturday she will be in the right shade of red!!

Health: Threw up on Thursday 4 times (of course the first day of school for me!) but she seemed to be fine the rest of the day!
Size clothes: some 3 months and some 6 months. Growing out of some 3 month pajamas though cause she is too long!!!
Size diapers: size 2
Eat: 6 times a day...mainly bottles...still nursing at bedtime or if the pump isn't around! She also has been eating some veggies! She has tried and loved squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, and she also tried green beans but didn't love them all that much. We are about to begin introducing fruits!
Sleeps: sometimes a few naps sometimes 1 nap...depends on what she does that day! Usually sleeps 10-12 hours at night
# of Wake ups at night: last week when I went back to school she woke up a few nights at 4 am when Jesse was on "night duty"...but I was on "duty" the last 2 nights and she slept all night!!
Milestone: We officially stopped swaddling on Friday night and she slept ALL night! We just stopped cold turkey...none of the swaddle with the hands out first, etc.
Disposition: Happy unless she is hurting from her teeth
Loves: to swim, to go to sleep on you, to scrunch up her nose and breath in and out, blow raspberries, be upside down, play with her toys
Doesn’t like: that she can't crawl, long car rides
Just learned: how to sleep without a swaddle
Smiles when: anyone looks at her or talks to her
Recent trips: Orlando, Florida, Gold's to swim, mommy's school to help in her classroom

Balloons...

Today, Jesse and I went shopping for his birthday gift! While we were at Dick's Sporting Goods Georgia Grace kept looking at something and we figured out it was a balloon they had on a rack to advertise a SALE! Anyway, she loved that thing. So at the grocery store tonight Jesse let her play with a balloon! She absolutely loved it!!

First Family ROAD trip...

Well last week we took our very first family road trip! Georgia Grace went on her first official vacation right before she turned 3 months old when we went to Boston but this was our first long trip in the car! (She has been to Charlotte several times and also Charleston but this was a LOT longer than a 2 hour ride!) We went with our friends, Tracy and Philip, and their son who will be 1 in September! It was fun traveling with friends but especially 2 babies!

On Saturday, July 30th Jesse was in a wedding...
(Congrats Kim and Tim!)
We got home that night and packed up everything and headed over to Tracy and Philip's house! We packed up the car and headed to Florida a little after midnight on Sunday, July 31st! Here are the kiddos sleeping on the way down! And here they are once the sun came up (we had finally arrived in the state of Florida!) We had so much fun!

We went shopping.... We played... We went swimming.... We went to Downtown Disney... (Georgia Grace LOVED Minnie Mouse!) We went to Sea World... And she LOVED watching the shows... except she slept through Shamu! And we had to come back home! but we stayed pretty entertained
and slept a little!

Dear Dad,

Well, It has been 4 years ago that I said goodbye. I still remember sitting in the student center at First Baptist hearing my phone ringing playing "Sweet Home Alabama" when mom called to say you hadn't been awake all day. Jesse and I had been up there for a few hours the night before. I did tear up before leaving that night and looking back I guess somehow I knew that was the last time we would talk. If you were here today I would let you know how thankful I am for all of the opportunities you gave me as a little girl. You made me into the person I am today. I thank you for providing security and help anytime I needed it. Now that I have a child I understand that unconditional love that you had even though I didn't always deserve it. I know that you love watching Georgia Grace grow up as much as we do and last night was the first time she seemed to really recognize her name. Jesse, Corey, Sam, and I were talking about football starting up soon. Georgia Grace was asleep and something was said about the Georgia/Carolina game and she opened her eyes. She had been asleep for a while and then she started falling back asleep realizing we weren't really talking to her but Jesse said Georgia again and she was bright eyed looking at him again. It was awesome just knowing that she knows who she is and to know we chose her name to honor you! God is awesome in the fact that she looks like you in so many ways. So far she has your big blue eyes...she has your smile...and she even looks like your baby pictures. Sometimes it's almost creepy when I am feeding her and she gives me a big grin it makes me think you are right there! I know you would spoil her rotten if you were here (like you spoiled me) but mom is doing a good job of that! Just know that I think of you each day and I am blessed to have her as a reminder of you. Thank you for all of your love, care, and support that you gave me for a full 25 years. You were the best daddy a girl could ask for besides Jesse with Georgia Grace :)

We can't believe we have been parents for 1/2 of a year!! WOW!
Age: 6 months
Weight: 15 lbs, 5 oz (35%)

Health: Perfect little angel...she got an A+ at the dr!
Size clothes: mainly 3 months and 3-6 months...and a few 6 month dresses
Size diapers: size 2
Eat: 6 times a day...mainly bottles...still nursing at bedtime or if the pump isn't around!

Milestone: She pushes up on her hands constantly and scoots across the floor on her back! She will sit up by herself for a few seconds at a time before losing her balance!
Disposition: happy although she has started getting fussy when you put her down and walk away from her
Loves: to take naps with you, and to "talk" to you and she still loves her "lovie" and her hands and feet! She has really enjoyed her toys lately too!
Doesn’t like: for you to walk away from her or out of her sight...you have to really distract her with a cool toy or something

We had a fun-filled week last week...here is a little of what we did...

Monday we went to the Peach Festival for the 4th of July!

Then Tuesday we enjoyed hanging out at home and playing...

Wednesday Liam and Meg came over to swim!

Anniversary Trip...

Last week I spent 7 nights on this boat...
in this room...
with my favorite person...
my husband!

It was AMAZING!
We had such a wonderful time doing some of our favorite things...laying out, going to the beach, running, sleeping, eating, shopping, and meeting new people!!

You may wonder how in the world we spent that long without our baby girl but we had her in great hands (plus I wrote out 8 pages of what Jesse would call "sub plans" with information for everyone who kept her!) She stayed with different people throughout the week so they never got tired of her and she was spoiled rotten, I'm sure!
(here we are, saying goodbye!)

It was tough to say goodbye to her the night before we left and as Amy pulled out of the driveway to spend the weekend with her I did shed a few tears knowing I would be so far away from her but I hadn't packed a thing for the cruise plus the Carolina baseball game went on FOREVER so I had lots to keep my mind off of leaving her. That Saturday morning we woke up at 2:30 and hit the road to get to Port Canaveral! We arrived there about 11 am and got on the ship about noon! It was AWESOME! It did start to rain that afternoon before we pulled out of the port but that didn't matter...we were so excited! Jesse had never been on a cruise before and so we went all over the ship that day looking at all there was to do and try to find our way around! After dinner we went to the laser light show...which wasn't all that good...but oh well!

The first day we were "at sea" heading to Mexico. We had the Captain's Dinner and so we got to dress up!

The second day we went to Cozumel, Mexico.

It was beautiful. We rented a car...you can laugh...it was a smart car....

and it was a convertible
(but before you laugh too much...we never had to fill the car back up with gas because it stayed on full the whole time!)

We drove to a beach first called Mr. Sanchos Beach Club. We enjoyed laying out by the clear water until it started POURING down rain! We waited out the rain and then it never let up so we decided to get in the car and start driving around the island again....so we headed downtown. We drove around and saw the new Sam's club they were opening and saw some of the poverty in the city but then headed to see the Mayan ruins....my least favorite part of the trip! First, we drove down this bumpy, terribly paved road in a SMART CAR forever...then it was POURING even worse....then it cost 8 dollars a person to get in...then mosquitoes starting biting me...we had to walk for what seemed like miles....I had on flip flops....we had to walk through lots of mushy water....with HUGE frogs....and more mosquitoes bit me...and there really were no ruins that were that impressive! Once we got back to the car we headed back down town to go shopping even though it started raining again. We went to a shopping center but lots of stores were closed (maybe because of the rain) and so we bought a magnet and headed back to return the car and get back on the ship! Cozumel was very pretty and I loved the beach but will not go to the Mayan ruins again! But since we paid 16 bucks here are some pictures from there!

The next day we went to Roatan which is an island of Honduras! We went to Tabyana Beach which was beautiful. The whole island was beautiful...lots of mountains, jungle, and beach! We spent the day by the ocean and fish would literally swim right up by your legs in the water. I am sure the snorkeling was great but I do not like snorkeling...just ask Jesse about me trying to snorkel in Hawaii for our honeymoon! Here are some pictures of Roatan!

The next day we went to Belize but since Jesse had just gone to Belize last April for a mission trip we decided to just chill on the boat and enjoy all it had to offer without all the crowds of people! We loved the adult only part of the boat called "Serenity" and they had comfy chairs and hammocks and a hot tub! Only thing that would have been better would be an adult only pool!

That afternoon we watched a movie on the big movie screen by the pool on the boat.

And we had a midnight buffet!

On Thursday our port was canceled because of Tropical Storm Arlene. We were supposed to go to Costa Maya, Mexico but it was too windy. That day we stayed "At Sea" and we tried to lay out on the boat but it was SOOOO windy! That night was another formal night where we got to dress up. Jesse sported his Carolina bow-tie since they won the National Championship again!

Friday was our last day "at sea" and we started really missing Georgia Grace! I guess we had been on the boat for a few days straight and the anticipation of seeing her was growing! We did have fun the last day just relaxing and sleeping a lot and of course EATING! We loved our table that we ate with each night.

Here is the "bar guy" that always had a coke waiting for me at my seat at dinner when I got there! I asked him if he would take a picture for me (I meant would he take a picture of the table) He thought I meant pose in a picture for me...ha!

Saturday morning we got up and got off the boat. We stopped in St. Augustine and went to the outlets and then headed home...we were so thankful to get home to our sweet baby girl!
Thanks to everyone that kept her while we were away! Ya'll are AWESOME!

5 Months Old...

I can't believe that she is already 5 months! WOW!
Age: 5 months

Weight: not sure...but maybe 14 lbs...that's just a guess
Length: not sure either...maybe 26 inches...but again...just a guess
Head Circumference: no clue!
Health: She did have one stuffy nose a few weeks ago that lasted about 2 days and it was really while she was sleeping
Size clothes: mainly 3 months...she is still wearing some 0-3 month pajamas
Size diapers: just finished up the last of the size 1's and 1-2's and starting to use size 2 now (although the Pampers 1-2's currently fit her the best)
Eat: Usually eats 6 times a day (most days she has 4 or 5 bottles and then nurses at bedtime)
We have introduced rice cereal but she isn't a huge fan yet.
Sleeps: She usually has a morning nap and a longer afternoon nap. Sometimes an early evening short nap too. Bedtime is usually around 10 pm and she typically sleeps until 8 am.
# of Wake ups at night: zero...except for 1 am the day she got a stuffy nose (but she went right back to sleep until 9 once I cleared it for her!)
Milestone: She is really observant and aware of things around. Makes a lot more eye contact with people. Especially Ace...she will watch him walk around the room!
Disposition: Still super happy except when she is hot or in the carseat...or if someone or something is REALLY loud...she freaks!
Loves: her feet and Ace...and she still loves to chew on her hands, stand up, to be swaddled and her zebra "lovie"
Doesn’t like: loud noises or to get out of the wet pool! You have to strip her down immediately and then she is fine!
Just learned: that her feet are always there and she loves, loves, loves grabbing and holding them
Smiles when: you talk to her and when she sees Ace

Recent trips: She had her first beach trip, went to her first birthday party, first time at the library, first baseball game, went to Radius kids camp while mommy taught the big kids (1st graders!), and she had her first night away from mommy and daddy!

Next week she will have 8 nights away from us so we are glad she sleeps through the night away from home!

We had free tickets to the Blowfish baseball game tonight from H.E. Corley so we took Georgia Grace (since I couldn't ever score any USC tickets for the super regionals) Georgia Grace had a blast and we even saw some of my old students!

Five Years Ago...

I married the man of my dreams...

Lots of things have changed in those five years...
Here are the top five changes:
1. My dad passed away
2. We got Ace
3. Jesse resigned from youth pastor and started Crossover
4. Princess had to be put to sleep

5. We had a baby girl
but some things have stayed the same...
1. We still live in the same house

2. I still teach at H. E. Corley

3. We still have wonderful support from our families

4. We still love traveling

5. We still think being married is fun

Liam and the Library...

We had so much fun today with Meg and Liam!

We went to a music and movement class at the library for babies and then hit up the mall!
On the way back home Georgia Grace and Liam both fell asleep.
After they woke up we went to Liam's house for lunch and some play time!

Stay At Home Mom...

For the next 9 and a half weeks I get to be a stay at home mom! (except for the 7 days I am cruising with my husband!) I am so excited about spending time with my baby girl! I have already checked the schedule at the library and made a few lunch dates...and I can't wait to swim in the pool and have friends over! I sure do love summer vacation and being a teacher but most of all, I get more time to see this pretty girl!

Myrtle Beach for Memorial Day...

A Week Late...(sorry!)

Last weekend we went to Myrtle Beach for the holiday weekend! Jesse had a basketball tournament there on Saturday & Sunday for 3 of his Crossover Basketball teams so Amy came down to hang out by the pool and go shopping since Jesse was literally at games ALL day on Saturday!

On Saturday morning Amy and I took Georgia Grace to her first parade right outside our hotel on Ocean Boulevard. John McCain and Lindsey Graham were there!

That afternoon we took Georgia Grace to the pool and she loved it!

Then she had to take a nap!

That night we went to the outlets until Jesse finished up with basketball and he and Sam came to meet us for dinner!

On Sunday morning, Jesse had another basketball game to go to but that afternoon he came back to the hotel to enjoy the pool. We took Georgia Grace to the beach to play in the sand and the water! She is still a little too young to really enjoy any of it but I think this fall we will take her back since we might do the Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon in October!

Of course the water wore Georgia Grace out so she took a nap!

On Sunday night, Amy had to go back home but we met up with Joe and Meg (and Meg's sister and soon to be brother-in-law!) for Ben and Jerry's at Broadway at the Beach!

Monday afternoon we heading back home.

Georgia Grace slept some and played some!

Georgia Grace was happy to see her favorite brother, Ace!
And she was happy to be home with all her toys!

Rice Cereal...

Tonight we got to introduce rice cereal to Georgia Grace.

We could only give her about a tablespoon but she seemed to like it!

We will keep trying it once a day and then start introducing other foods!

4 Months Old...

Health: She has been very healthy so far!
Size clothes: 0-3 months and 3 months (some 3 months are too big though)
Size diapers: size 1 and some 1-2 diapers
Eat: Breastfeeding or bottles (4-5 oz) every 2 or 4 hours
Sleeps: usually a few naps and then all night...YAY! Bedtime is usually around 10 pm and she typically sleeps until 8...some mornings she gets up before then though but last Saturday she slept in until 10:30!!! (hope she keeps that up during the summer!!)
# of Wake ups at night: Still sleeping through the night...we are so blessed!
Milestone: She has started to laugh when she thinks that things are fun or funny!
Disposition: Happy almost all of the time...unless she is hungry or tired or HOT and she absolutely loves to talk to you! (and of course smile!)
Loves: to chew on her hands, stand up, and she loves her zebra "lovie"
Doesn’t like: getting hot or having a wet diaper
Just learned: how to "run" a 5k with her daddy!
Smiles when: she sees you come get her in the mornings

Recent trips: She goes to the Gold's Gym childcare a few days a week now, and we went to the lake and strawberry patch last weekend

Beach Blast...

Yesterday we had "Beach Blast" at school for the kindergarten students. I had promised my students that Georgia Grace would come visit them by the end of the year so Jesse put on her bathing suit and brought her up to join in on the fun!

Baby Dedication at Radius...

Last Sunday we had Georgia Grace dedicated at church. It was basically a vow to God, that as her parents, we will raise her up and teach her about Jesus and that we would do our best to model a life that shows His love to her.

Jesse's Nana made her beautiful dress!
We bought Georgia Grace her very first Bible. I had been told by a few friends that I should get The Jesus Storybook Bible. Well I did...and then Radius ended up giving her one too! Great minds must think alike!! It is a great Bible that turns the stories into kid friendly terms as well as explaining Jesus' role as savior!

After the service at church we went to eat at Carolina Wings!

Georgia Grace slept most of the time but after we ate
we did get a few smiles out of Georgia Grace!

One Year Ago...

A Fun Filled Weekend...

We have been up to lots of things this weekend...

Yesterday we went to Spring Valley to watch state championship track meet...

Lexington girls won 3rd and Lexington boys won 1st in the 4x800. That was my favorite event when I ran track and it definitely brought back lots of memories!

This morning we were invited to a lake party for one of the Crossover flag football teams! They had a beautiful home on the lake and Georgia Grace sure did love hanging out in the sunshine.

When we left there we went to pick strawberries where we picked some DELICIOUS strawberries and now I can't wait to make some shortcake to go with it!!

Tomorrow we are having Georgia Grace dedicated at church so I will have another post about that soon!

Talking Up A Storm...

Here is a video (sorry for being sideways) of Georgia Grace talking! She loves to have "conversations" with people now and her voice is just so darn cute I wanted record it so we can always remember what she sounded like when she was learning how to "talk!"

At the end of the video you can hear that she has a little gas...it's funny to see how she turns her head when it happens! You have to listen carefully!

Mother's Day...

Sunday was my first Mother's Day! Let me begin by saying that being a mom is such a wonderful opportunity. I am so thankful that God has trusted me with one of his children. I have loved every minute of being Georgia Grace's mother and I look forward to watching this baby grow into a beautiful toddler, child, teenager, and adult!

Jesse made me chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and then we went to Radius. It was such a wonderful service where we heard the testimony of a teenage/single mom. It was a great reminder on why I love Radius and the whole idea of blessing those in my own circle of life! After church, Jesse, Georgia Grace, and I went to Chili's where we had an awesome lunch and a dessert (which was free for all mom's!) After that we went to the mall and had a relaxing afternoon. We had reservations to have lunch with both of our mom's for dinner but plans fell through so we ended up just going to their houses to give them their cards/pictures (the perfect grandma gift!)

Georgia Grace (aka Jesse) wrote me this sweet letter for mother's day that told me she volunteered "dad" to do some of the things that I don't like to do (especially after a long day at work!) like washing bottles and bath time!

The note also said that I can get a massage and go on a weekend trip to a location of my choice...

Jesse claims that Georgia Grace forgot to put on there "within Lexington County!" (yeah right!)
I am still trying to brainstorm a good "weekend" getaway so suggestions are welcome!!!

I love my husband...he is always so creative and that letter that he spent time on is something I will treasure and show Georgia Grace when she is older. It means so much more to me than any "gift" that he could have purchased!

So here is a shot of my baby girl and me...and I absolutely love being her mommy!!!

The girl that did our awesome maternity pics is running a contest for the cutest kid...I entered Georgia Grace and so I need your votes...but it is through Facebook! Here are the directions... Happy Easter...

We had such a fun Easter weekend! Yesterday we started a new family tradition...

We went to see the Easter Bunny at the mall...

and we dyed eggs...

Then Georgia Grace got ready for bed in her bunny pajamas...

Then today the Easter Bunny brought
Georgia Grace her new Easter basket...

Went to Radius in the NEW building...
and spent time with family...
and loved on this precious girl...

3 Months Old...

Age: 3 months

Weight: probably 12 pounds or more but not sure...go back to the dr at 4 months!
Length: according to our measurements she is 25 inches

Head Circumference: Not sure of this either...I measured 15 but thats what she was at 2 months at the dr so I probably am doing it wrong!

Health: Perfect as far as we can tell!
Size clothes: 0-3 months and some 3 months are starting to fit!!
Size diapers: size 1...We think she might be allergic to Target Brand though...bummer...everytime we use it she gets a bright red rash on her bottom :(
Eat: Breastfeeding or bottles (4 oz) every 3 or 4 hours
Sleeps: usually a few naps and then all night...YAY! Bedtime is usually around 10 pm and she typically sleeps until 8...some mornings she gets up before then though
# of Wake ups at night: She has been sleeping through the night all month! She sometimes will wake up because she rolls onto her belly and can't roll back over...this is usually early in the morning though (5 or 6 am) not really middle of the night!
Milestone: She learned how to roll over a few weeks ago from her back to her belly!
Disposition: Happy almost all of the time...unless she is hungry or tired and she absolutely loves to talk to you! (and of course smile!)
Loves: to kick and roll over...she loves her paci now and she likes her toy lion...she hugs him all the time
Doesn’t like: getting in her carseat but will usually settle down pretty quickly once you give her the paci and/or lion
Just learned: to roll over
Smiles when: she is playing with her toys or when you talk to her

Recent trips: Boston to see daddy run and she met mommy's class at school a few weeks ago!
